Georg Stage - Danish Sailing Ship in Greenock

A nice day - went down to see the Georg Stage again as she was open to the public.

Very friendly crew and she was spick and span - as you would expect.

The crew are aboard for 3 - 4 month, and she sails at 10:00 tomorrow morning.

Birthday Treat

We had a very good day today - took my mum for a nice lunch to the Stables in Balloch.

It's her 81st birthday.

Then to the outlets for some shopping, and on to Luss where the sun shone brightly - and warmly. We had an ice cream sitting in the warmth.

Headed home, but not before we stopped off at Erskine to pick up some Pineapple cakes to have a coffee before we ran her home.

Greenock Esplanade

After a hurried dinner I scampered down to Greenock to get some pics of the SL Performance as she left the Greenock Ocean Terminal.

She was scheduled to move at 18:00, but the crew were obviously well unprepared and I gave up at 19:30 and headed home.

Loch Katrine - Trossachs

A nice warm day, but the sun didn't break through till late afternoon.

Very peaceful, and some nice reflections.

Nice sunny day today and warmer too. Wind spoiled any chance of a real warm one.

Killin, Stirlingshire

After a prolonged wait for the steam train at Crianlarich, we decided to head across to Killin for lunch.

After returning to Crianlarich to discover we had missed the train, we went back across to get some photos before heading on down to Loch Katrine.

Tourist Trail

Headed off to Crianlarich as heard that a steam train was bound for Fort William.

Sadly missed the train despite arriving early. Went off for a lunch and it came and went during that time.

Normally take on water at Crianlarich, but sadly for me, not today.

Cloch Lighthouse & Submarine

Headed to the Cloch around lunch time as the USS Albany was departing Faslane to head downriver.

After a long chat with a local from Inverkip I decided to grab a few shots of the Cloch Lighthouse - an icon of the Gourock area.

Gourock Highland Games

It was Gourock's annual Highland Games this afternoon.

Remarkably, it stayed dry for the entire duration - which I believe is not always the case.

Had discussions with some French visitors - one of whom was a Professional Photographer, and a couple from Seattle on a short holiday.

Greenock Cemetery

Hadn't been up the cemetery for a while and it's just so beautiful on a day like today.

What a pity the local 'talent' has seen fit to destroy so much in this peaceful and tranquil place.

No respect ................

Can only be described as 'mindless'.
