Zombie Walk - Kelvingrove, Glasgow - 2010

Well it's Halloween and the Zombies came out to play - even in the daylight - though it was getting dark.

Around 4,000 got themselves made up and thrilled the crowds that gathered to watch.

The whole event was a blast and everyone had a great time.

Late Run Out

A late run out to try and catch a good sunset.

Sunset wasn't so good, but here are a couple in the dying embers.

Sure is getting chillier at nights now.

After lunch in Glasgow, a nice walk in the peace and tranquillity of Langbank.

Misty enjoyed her walk, and Skipper came too. He seems to enjoys as much as she does.

Launch of Duncan

At 15:47 this afternoon  the sixth and last of the Royal Navy's new Type 45 Destroyers was launched from BAE Systems shiyard in Govan, Glasgow.

The 7,500 tonne warship - Duncan - will enter service in 2014.

She will join the other Type 45 Destroyers - Daring, Diamond, Dauntless, Dragon and Defender.

The wife of the Deputy Commander-in-Chief Fleet Vice Admiral Richard Ibbotson - Marie Ibbotson - sent her down the slipway in traditional fashion.

Duncan is named after Admiral Adam Duncan who defeated the Dutch fleet in 1797.

Around 14,000 people watched this historic occasion and sadly this may be the last ship launched here.

Certainly we will not see another launch for many years to come.

Joint Warrior Military Exercise Ships Passing Greenock

Made my way to Greenock today - a short journey compared to my sojourns to Faslane last week.

Nice bright morning and the warships came down on time, and as expected.

Called time at Noon and enjoyed a late lunch with Chris before he left to catch his plane back home to Plymouth.

I've been on the go since last Thursday so it's been quite demanding to say the least.

Wonder which ships will return to the Clyde after the exercise is complete?

Joint Warrior Military Exercise Ships at Faslane

Another day of mixed weather. This is the third day and the ships are coming in and going out without any apparent order.

Spent most of the day in the company of Chris and Michael with some good conversions in between arrivals and departures.

This will likely be my last day at Faslane as will try and catch the Frigates coming down from Glasgow on the Monday.

Heading Home from Faslane

Caught some late sunshine on my way back home from Faslane. Couldn't resist stopping to get a few pics as I've been promising myself for ages now to catch the scenery surrounding the road.

Joint Warrior Military Exercise Ships at Faslane

A dreadful day with gusting winds and driving rain.

Persevered and managed to get a few worthwhile images.

Let's hope for better conditions on Monday when the fleet will depart to head up the West coast for their exercise area.

On a very wet windy day today I took a rest from photographing the Joint Warrior exercise and drove up to Garelochhead to catch this one southbound.

Met up with Donnie which was a nice short catch up.
