Kristina Katarina - Greenock Departure

The Cruise ship 'Kristina Katarina' arrived on the Clyde for the first time yesterday, and after an overnight stay departed for the exotic port of Oban in Western Scotland.

Operated by Finnish cruise line 'Kristina Cruises' she can carry up to 450 passengers.

East Fortune Airshow 2012

This is my first visit to the East Fortune Airshow since 2009.

Not a lot has changed - and this is a good thing.

I felt the ground activities were quite poor, much preferred things like the 'Birds of Prey' than Cycle and Motorcycle stunts if I'm honest.

We had a call off with the Blimp - and these things are to be expected.

The 'Red Arrows' were - as always - excellent and everyone enjoys.

I missed the 'wingwalkers' and would have been great if we had the Vulcan flying at the show this year.

The weather was just plain awful - the rain came down like bullets in the very heavy showers - which put a dampener on some of the displays - very unfortunate.

As always the commentary was informative and well paced - much appreciated.

Chemtrans Oste - Bound for Glasgow

One of the many tankers passing Greenock as she heads upriver to Rothesay Dock near Glasgow.

Lovely to see the river on such a fine day.

Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway

Being over in that part of the country it's a no brainer to visit this lovely heritage railway line.

Pleased to see the 'Morayshire' in full steam today both on her departure, and arrival after her run to Kinneil and Birkhill.

The sun still shone and warm too. A pleasant day throughout.

Museum of Scottish Railways

Another visit to this museum - this time with tripod.

The museum consists of two main areas and contains many locomotives - both steam and diesel - plus rolling stock.

Another one that is worth a visit with the added incentive of a real working heritage railway next door.
