Joint Warrior Military Exercise - Sunday Departures

The busy days continue as some of the participating naval ships depart Faslane to head North to the West Coast to begin the 'war games'.

I have spent the afternoon on the shoreline capturing some images as detailed below.

Voe Chief and a Few More

Popped down to Greenock this morning to catch the 'Voe Chief' as she arrived.

Also a few shots of SD Victoria who will be supporting the military vessels on their Joint Warrior Exercise next week. She has a high speed attack craft at her stern for the Exercise.

Lastly a small yacht in the Gareloch.

Joint Warrior - Faslane Saturday Arrivals

The Mine Hunters arrived earlier than expected this morning so I missed the first three as they passed on their way to Faslane.

Here's a few images of the last three transiting the Rhu Narrows.

Paisley Walkabout

As my "other half" had some business in Paisley I had an hour's walkabout to keep me amused.

So here are the results of my walkabout to kill some time.

Swans - Up Close and Personal

These guys and gals were determined to get up close and personal today.

Always a bit dangerous but nevertheless both fascinating and beautiful creatures and I find hem hard to resist.

Fairly tolerant today, but just an edge of 'doing it their way' made for some nice images I thought.

Swans with attitude.

AMT Trader - Barge

The barge 'AMT Trader' arrived at Greenock this morning towed by Italian tug 'Carlo Magno'.

The local Svitzer tugs took over and towed her up to Fergusons Shipbuilders in Port Glasgow for some modification work.

When the work is completed she will be towed to  the BAY Systems shipyard where a section of the aircraft carrier will be loaded on, then transported to Rosyth where the assembly work is in progress.
