Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway

Being over in that part of the country it's a no brainer to visit this lovely heritage railway line.

Pleased to see the 'Morayshire' in full steam today both on her departure, and arrival after her run to Kinneil and Birkhill.

The sun still shone and warm too. A pleasant day throughout.

Museum of Scottish Railways

Another visit to this museum - this time with tripod.

The museum consists of two main areas and contains many locomotives - both steam and diesel - plus rolling stock.

Another one that is worth a visit with the added incentive of a real working heritage railway next door.

Blackness Castle

On reaching my third location today the sun was still shining and very warm indeed.

So, it was nice to be by the sea with a fresh wind blowing.

Blackness Castle was a very strategic castle and important to the monarchy of those times.

Linlithgow Palace

A whirlwind tour today as I covered a few locations in West Lothian.

First stop was Linlithgow Palace and this was my second visit. Suspect I'll return again and the weather today made it a warm and pleasant place to be.

This is one of many buildings owned by 'Historic Scotland' and it has to be said that membership is great value for money, and you feel like they are looking after their customers as well as maintaining these beautiful structures.

There were a few young ladies in period costume who were giving informative tours of the Palace and they are to be commended for their presentations.
