'MV Clansman' - Garvel Dry Dock

The Calmac ferry - MV Clansman - left the James Watt Dock this afternoon, and went in to the Garvel Dry Dock for repair work.

Pretty dull afternoon and rain showers added to the interest of getting some worthwhile images.

The final image is of two Serco vessels side by side.

River Clyde Around Inverclyde

Popped in to Port Glasgow to get a few images of the bulk carrier 'Interlink Verity' as she passed on her way upriver to Glasgow.

On my way home after some shopping I saw the 'Chieftain' in East India Harbour. So a quick u-turn took me back down to get a few images.

She was formerly 'Seabus' and has been recently renamed.

Today she was on a private excursion to spread the ashes of a deceased on the River Clyde.

Electric Glen

Well as busy a day as it's been up till now, time to head up to Thornliebank and
Rouken Glen Park.

This is the final night of the 'Electric Glen' show.

It was a fantastic night time experience of light, sound, and performance.

The illuminated trail around the park was magical, and it was fortunate that we enjoyed a dry night till just near the end.

The natural beauty of the park was enhanced by the lightning and sounds as we walked the trail.

Sunday Travels

An early start for a Sunday morning to catch the anchor handler 'UOS Liberty' as she departed the Greenock Ocean Terminal.

Then headed on down towards Largs to get a few shots of the 'Cape Elise' - a bulk carrier that had suffered some mechanical problems and was adrift in the Atlantic prior to being escorted to the anchorage off Bute for repairs.

Heading back to Greenock I stopped off at Wemyss Bay for a few shots around the pier and railway station.

Then carried on back up the coast to get a bite to eat at home.

Then back down to Greenock to catch the 'SD Victoria' as she arrived at Greenock.

Then home again for some editing and another bite to eat before heading to the 'Electric Glen' for some night shots.

'Isle of Arran' in Dry Dock

A wee follow up to Thursday's images, we now see the 'Isle of Arran' being given some TLC in the Garvel Dry Dock.

She will probably be in for about 7 - 10 days, and then back on her normal route.

She arrived a little later than expected and ever hopeful that the forecast was correct and the rain would stay away.

All went to plan as she entered the dock without a hitch I'm pleased to say.

Drove around to the dock and got a few images as she entered, and was centered prior to the dock being pumped dry.
