Classic Car and Vehicle Show - Strathaven

A day out in Strathaven today as I attended a 'Classic Car and Vehicle Show' at Strathaven Rural Centre.

The weather was very good for a change today so made the event all the more enjoyable.

The good folks that had their vehicles on display were very friendly and only too keen to chat and enlighten on their various exhibits.

All in all this was a good day out.

Stavros S Niarchos - Greenock

Stavros S Niarchos – the sail training tall ship arrived in Greenock this afternoon.

Watched as she berthed with her trainee crew doing a sterling job under watchful eyes.

Always nice to see these ships in port and intend getting more images from aboard on Monday.

Riverside Museum - Glasgow

Final museum visit of the day, making this my third.

Second visit to Riverside and although it's fine for what it is, lacks atmosphere.

The green paintwork also looks rather sickly to me personally.

Hunterian Museum - Glasgow University

The second of my museum visits today was to the Hunterian.

This is located in Glasgow University and the surrounding buildings are plain awesome.

Well worth the visit.

Kelvingrove Museum - Glasgow

 
Well, this is my first museum visit of today, with another two planned.

Kelvingrove has been visited many times by myself and always something new to catch the eye.

I will never, ever understand though - why a spitfire is located over stuffed animals. It just doesn't fit in any way, shape, or form.

It just has to be relocated in the Museum of Transport, and the sooner the better in my opinion.

Swans with Cygnets

I've been watching for the cygnets to arrive. A few days late and not the best of light - but the swans are charming with their cygnets.

Family love for sure.
