Vintage Buses - Glasgow

Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust were running some bus services in the city today - at a very generous price of 'Free'.

Many thanks go to the volunteers and drivers who made this day possible.

My Backyard - Langbank

The colours and flowers looked so vibrant today I just had to get a few images.

The bluebells tend not to last too long in bloom.

Stavros S Niarchos - Departing Greenock

What another wonderful day weather-wise - unbelievable temperatures.

Saw the 'Stavros S Niarchos' off from Greenock and good to see everyone enjoying themselves.

She headed out in calm waters and no wind bound for Lamlash Bay at Arran.

She is on a seven day trip with her destination Swansea.

Prince Edward - Greenock Visit to Beacon Arts Centre

We enjoyed a brief visit from His Royal Highness Prince Edward to Greenock this afternoon.

He was  paying a visit to the new Arts Guild which is under construction.

The visit was to unveil its new name - 'The Beacon Arts Centre'.

Relaxed, he came across and spoke to the waiting crowd who were very appreciative of his presence.

Stavros S Niarchos - Sail Training Ship

The Sail Training Ship - Stavros S Niarchos - was open to the public today.

Never one to miss an opportunity I took myself down and was met by Helen who - after going over the safety issues - kindly gave me a tour of the vessel.

Having sailed on the - Sir Winston Churchill - many years ago, it was interesting to see how she compared.

The tour was short but informative and here are some images taken along the way.
