Rich Duchess II

Rich Duchess II  arrived at Loch Long today and proceeded up to Finnart to discharge her cargo.

She was assisted by Svitzer tugs - including Svitzer Pembroke - a visitor to our waters.

Caribbean Princess - Cruise Ship

Seemed too good a night not to pop down and grab a few (more) images of the Caribbean Princess.

She looked lovely as she departed in the beautiful sunshine.

Also grabbed one of the 'St Just' on my way home a she passed Port Glasgow.

Stirling Castle

Through in Stirling today and spent some time in Stirling Castle.

Very many years since my last visit and what a transformation.

This is truly a major attraction with much to see, and very helpful and informative staff.

Well worth a visit, and one location in my diary for a repeat visit.

Silver Explorer (Formerly Prince Albert II) - Greenock

The luxury cruise ship 'Silver Explorer' arrived in Greenock very early this morning - around 6 am - too early for me.

 She was formerly the 'Prince Albert II'. This will be her only visit to Greenock this year.

I managed a few shots as she departed Greenock in the rain and headed to Douglas on the Isle of Man.

Swans and Cygnets - Greenock Dam

Another wee trip up to see the cygnets are progressing.

Murdieston dams as they are known locally, but actually called Cowdenknowes Reservoir.

Rather poor light, but again the swans were very accommodating in permitting me access to their young.

Well the good weather has deserted us today, but glad of some respite as it was really too hot for my taste.

Caught a little activity on the river as I was heading home after some shopping.

Bothwell Castle - Battle Re-Enactment

Another fine day and out to Bothwell Castle to enjoy some re-enactment from 'Carrick 800' and 'Fire and Sword' societies.

A very friendly welcome and as usual the good folks were both  helpful and informative throughout the day.

And of course there was fun to be had during the battles and archery.
