Glencoe

A great day out at Glencoe today.

Very cold biting wind started me off, then a bit of light - but annoying - rain.

Towards sunset it became much milder and the wind dropped making it feel very pleasant.

The A82 road was closed due to an accident meaning an extended route back home via Oban in the dark.

Inverclyde Today

Another cold day, but nice and bright.

A run down to Gourock and as the road gate was closed at Tower Hill (not sure why) it was a walk the last part of the way.

A few panoramas of the hills across the Clyde.

Then a run up to Greenock and to Custom House Quay where 'Pole Star' is berthed as she is doing some buoy work in the Clyde over the next few days.

Isle of Mull - Ferry

The 'Isle of Mull' ferry arrived in Greenock this morning.

She berthed in the James Watt Dock and will transfer to the Garvel dry dock for her annual winter maintenance.

She canted to reverse in, but aborted the entry and left again. Then she canted again and this time went straight in to the James Watt Dock with little room on her port side.

VOS Inspirer - Exits Garvel Dry Dock

A wee trip down to the Greenock docks this afternoon, and very bright sunshine today.

VOS Inspirer was leaving the Garvel dry dock and then berthing in James Watt Dock to finish off her refit before going out on trials.

Lochwinnoch Nature Reserve

An early run up to the RSPB centre at the Lochwinnoch Nature reserve this morning.

Despite a bright sun, limited to the light outside the photo hide, and not much better on the path.

As always, a warm welcome by staff and visitors alike.

A few of my efforts are here, but would like to have had better images.

Gryffe Reservoir in Greenock

A few images from Gryffe Reservoir today.

Nice winter light and the reservoir was partly covered in ice.
