River Clyde on a Busy Day

Another early start to catch the 'Sea Resolute' as she departed Sheildhall and pass on down the river to open sea.

Bright start but heavy showers were soon to follow as I neared Greenock.

The river was fairly busy so I was fortunate enough to get a few photos.

'Mahri' is a spaniel and she looked the part as a 'Sea Dog' as she spent time with her owner - one of the crew on the 'Svitzer Milford'.

Two Cruise Ships - Greenock

An early start this morning to greet the two cruise ships arriving at Greenock.

'Aida Cara' was the first to arrive and she was followed about an hour later by the 'MSC Magnifica'.

I then had the good fortune to catch a vintage bus on it's way to the bus rally at Dunfermline.

Feeling a bit more like winter this morning - an extra layer worn until a bit later in the morning.

Paisley Fire Engine Rally - 2013

The 'Paisley Fire Engine Rally' was held today at County Place in Paisley.

I arrived rather late but managed to catch a few worthwhile images.

One benefit of my late arrival was that the weather improved somewhat and had a nice bit of sun rather then the heavy rain we enjoyed earlier in the day.

Having said that, the rain returned not too long after I left so I was indeed very fortunate.

Enjoyed the event and everyone seemed to be having an enjoyable time.

Afternoon at the Gareloch in Scotland

A trip over to Faslane today resulted in a few worthwhile images of the Virginia class US navy submarine - USS Missouri (SSN-780).

Unfortunately I had quite a tumble getting on to the beach, with my camera and lens bouncing off the large rocks - as did I.

Camera seems OK but filter glass on the lens totally shattered. Lens seems OK but can't get the lens filter off as it's jammed solid.

It could have been much worse. Shame it happened but such is life I guess.

On the plus side I made a new friend at Garelochhead - so there was a silver lining.

Some shots of the ex-navy fleet tender - Aberdovey - as she is beached for some paintwork to be refreshed.
