More Arrivals for Joint Warrior

Four more arrivals this morning for the Joint Warrior naval exercise.

It was very cold, very wet, and really quite miserable as we waited for these to pass us at Custom House Quay in Greenock.

They were later than expected, but headed to Glasgow for berthing until their departures on Sunday.

Meeting up with old friends from around the country did bring cheer despite to awful weather.

Joint Warrior - April 2013 Arrivals

A few more arrivals for the Joint Warrior maritime exercise today.

The Dutch frigate - HNLMS Evertsen - arrived at Faslane for 08:00 so an early start for me.

We also had two Norwegian high speed craft head up to Glasgow and one of them - KNM Gnist - is pictured here.

Joint Warrior Exercise - 13-1

Next week sees the start of the naval vessels participating in the upcoming 'Joint Warrior' exercise arrive in the Clyde.

I'll be covering this event and posting images throughout the week.

We had an early arrival early this afternoon in the shape of the Dutch ship 'HNMLS Mercuur', a Submarine Support and Torpedo Recovery Ship.

She berthed at the Greenock Ocean Terminal.

'Yeoman Bank' - Greenock For Repairs

 
The 'Yeoman Bank' was unable to dock at Glensanda due to a problem with her bow thrusters.

As there were no tugs available in the area she was dispatched to Greenock for repairs to be carried out at the Inchgreen repair quay.

She arrived early this evening and was berthed with the assistance of Svitzer tugs - 'Ayton Cross' and 'Svitzer Milford'.

MV Finlaggan - Refit Time

 The 'MV Finlaggan' arrived at Greenock today and proceeded to the Garvel dry dock for her annual maintenance visit.

The sun shone brightly, and although still a bit of chill in the wind it was pleasantly warm at times.

I was there quite early as she stood off for some time waiting on the tide to accommodate her entry to the dock.

Quite a few enthusiasts turned up to photograph the event.
