Sunny Winter's Day

A lot better on the weather front today, cold but very sunny and bright.

Managed a few photos in the afternoon.

It Wouldn't Be Winter ..........................

If we didn't have our little friends - the Robin - a plump wee bird with a bright orange-red breast - to brighten up our gardens at this time of year.

Photography Field Day - Paisley University

Another day trip with my night school class.

Cold start, so after a short walk we proceeded to visit the Transport Museum in Glasgow.

We were treated to an interactive presentation of Glasgow trams which was both informative and entertaining.

Another enjoyable day out in Glasgow.

East India Harbour - Greenock, Inverclyde

A few pics from this morning's run down to East India Harbour in Greenock.

Wind, cold, and showers were the order of the day - yet again.

Will we ever see a dry sunny day again? Yes, I'm sure we will.

Poor Weather Continues - Inverclyde Area

And so the poor weather continues. Forecasters announced that today would give us the best weather of the week.

This is worrying, and looks like we'll have to batten down the hatches for the remainder of the week.

Managed to grab a few pics between showers, but light faded fast in the winter afternoon.

HMS Astute - Royal Navy Submarine - Arrives at Clyde Faslane Naval Base

The Royal Navy's largest and most powerful attack submarine arrived at Faslane Naval Base this morning.

Measuring nearly 328 ft in length she has started her sea trials and is expected to be handed over in around 18 months.

She sailed up the Gareloch to her new home for the first time with plenty media coverage of the event.

Ambush, Artful, and Audacious have already been approved, and they should arrive at two yearly intervals.

I covered this event for the 'Defence Press Agency' as a contributor to the - Monitoring Matters - E-Zine.

Myths & Legends Festival - Greenock, Inverclyde

Greenock's third  Myths & Legends Festival drew to a close with a fantastic firework display at the Battery Park.

This was preceded with 'Big Man Walking' closing of his tour off the Inverclyde District.

Weather started a bit wet, but I'm pleased to say it dried up in time for everyone to enjoy the fireworks.

Big Man Walking - Gourock, Inverclyde

The 'Big Man' continued his tour of Inverclyde this morning in Gourock.

Started fair again, but rain soon arrived to dampen the spirits.

However - the show must go on - and it did.

Big Man Walking - Port Glasgow, Inverclyde

'Big Man Walking' came to Inverclyde today - and best described as awesome.

We were lucky to catch it dry at the start - but the weather let us down badly as the parade was in full swing.

The 'Puppet Lab' created Scotland's first giant puppet - a giant 8 metre high man to walk through the towns and villages of Scotland.

Big Man Walking was a spectacular street event with this gigantic figure, and the atmosphere created was fantastic with everyone old and young joining in and having a great time.
