Bo'ness and Kinneil Heritage Railway held their two day Winter Diesel Gala on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th December.
I managed through on the Sunday, and although well attended I gather the Saturday was even busier.
Primarily aimed at diesel enthusiasts the day was very interesting to anyone who remembers the sounds and smells of these powerful diesel engines.
Mostly from the sixties many are still in use on the network today - some having been taken out of their heritage retirement duties to assist the railway companies haul their freight.
As expected the Station Buffet at Bo’ness was open for delicious homemade food and drinks.
Bitterly cold and felt worse as the sun set for the night but a worthwhile day I think.
