'Jubilee Hope' Outward Bound for Africa

The medical vessel 'Jubilee Hope' departed the Great Harbour in Greenock today bound for Lake Victoria in Africa.

She left at 12:20 with a wave from the crew to the small group of assembled well-wishers.

I wish her and her crew a safe passage.

Jubilee Hope - Great Harbour - Greenock

The 'Jubilee Trust' is in Greenock for about a week.

She is a medical ship owned by the Vine Trust and will eventually be based at Lake Victoria.

With state-of-the-art medical equipment she will become a floating medical centre - providing for families unable to currently enjoy a standard of health care.

More information is available at - http://www.vinetrust.org/jubileeproject - where you can also donate to the charity.

Breast Cancer Care - Greenock Charity Walk

It was a lovely summer evening for this very worthwhile
event which raised in excess of £1,400 on the night with more pledged

A Pink Parade - and the organiser Helen Murphy has intimated she will definitely be organising another.

Even the dogs present enjoyed their extended walks

There was a really 'feel good' atmosphere with everyone waving and smiling

The half way mark - as the walkers were about to turn and complete the walk back to
the start point

A big well done to all who gave up their time and participated.

Cancer Research UK - Glasgow River Festival 2009

Cocktails, Canapés, & Cupcakes event held at the Glasgow River Festival 2009

I received a kind invitation to go aboard and take a photograph of these lovely ladies, which I was more than pleased to accept

They all appeared to be enjoying themselves - and all in aid of a very good cause

Those cakes look yummy
