Few Hours at Prestwick Airport

A fairly short time spent at Prestwick International Airport (PIK) today as the Super Galaxy had stayed overnight and it was rumoured it may leave sometime around Lunch.

As luck would have it I managed to get there in time to get a few shots before she started up and departed.

I opted to stay a while longer to catch what other traffic I could before heading home.

Scottish Airshow 2015 - Prestwick and Ayr

Lovely day for the airshow at Ayr, but a cold wind off the beach made it less comfortable.

Opted to head over to see the aircraft at Prestwick during the lunch break - this proved to be a good move.

Vulcan had her final flight in Scotland as she will no longer be flying after this year.

She had a technical problem which gave us a few concerns but all ended well I'm pleased to say.

I'll let the images do the talking and hope you enjoy them.

A Few Hours at Prestwick Airfield

Hearing that the Refuelling Tanker and the two Hornets would depart today I headed down to Prestwick.

After a short delay the aircraft fired up and taxied down for take-off.

Nice to see the Hornets pick up speed and take off in a lively fashion and hope my images do justice.

Prestwick Airport Trip

On hearing that we may see a couple of Skyhawks at Prestwick it was always going to be a drive down to get a few photos.

They arrived much later than I had expected, but it gave me time to walk Maya and catch up with a few friends.

I also managed a few photos of some of the other aircraft about on the day.
