Johnstone Fire Rally

The Renfrewshire annual Fire Rally came to Johnstone this year.

It was very well attended and nice to see the pipe band leading the appliances to the Square.

It's a pity the weather took a turn for the worst but the kids seemed to be having rare old time with all the flashing lights and the noise of the klaxons.

We had some local dignitaries in attendance and the provost was called on to participate in some of the demonstrations.

Thanks are due to all the volunteers for making the event such a success.

Inverclyde Today

While my car was in for some (expensive) repairs to the steering and an MOT I had more than a few hours to wander.

Going light I had my wee compact camera and managed a few shots along the way.

The quality of the sensor is nothing short of amazing in my opinion.

Hope you enjoy.

'Europa' Cruise Ship in Greenock

The Hapag-Lloyd cruise ship 'MS Europa' arrived right on schedule at Greenock this morning.

The threatened rain stayed away thankfully albeit very dull.

Her last visit was in 2011 when Greenock hosted the Tall Ships event so nice to see her return.

Edinburgh Fringe Festival

The Edinburgh Fringe has been on my wish list for a good few years but only managed to get through this year.

Kicking myself I left it so long.

A multitude of experiences in just a short walk, and a really good feel factor abounded throughout the day.

A big personal thanks to all the very kind and generous acts that made themselves available on the day to allow me to capture - I hope - a flavour of the events.

Glasgow at Night

I saw 'HMS Duncan' late on Friday night all lit up at the Riverside Museum.

I ventured up tonight to get a shot of her as she is unlikely to dock there again.

Sadly she stayed in darkness so plan B was to get some images from around the museum after sunset.

More than happy with my compensatory images I have to say.
