HMS Defender Outward Bound

HMS Defender headed out to see this morning after her weekend visit to Glasgow.

A nice bright sunny morning made all the difference in getting some good images.

HMS Defender - Glasgow Open Day

As part of HMS Defenders visit to Glasgow she opened to the public today and gave the citizens an opportunity to see aboard and talk with the officers and crew.

Many took advantage and it was a busy day indeed, making it a worthwhile exercise for all concerned.

Well done to the Royal Navy and the servicemen involved.

HMS Defender Arrives in Glasgow

The Royal Navy Type 45 Destroyer - 'HMS Defender' - returned to the river and city of her birth today as part of a weekend visit to her adopted city.

She will open to the public from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, and will also play host to organised tours for students from a number of Glasgow schools - as well as groups of Sea Cadets and university students.

Crew members are honoured to be hosted by the Lord Provost at a special reception in the City Chambers.
