Paper Boat at the Inverclyde Galoshan's Festival

Inverclyde hosted the Galoshan's Festival over the weekend, and one activity today was the creation and sailing of a full size paper boat on the Clyde.

German artist Frank Bolter constructed the life size boat from paper, and then boarded the vessel for a short tow around the East India Harbour, and ventured out to the main channel.

This was a homage to George Wylie the renowned Scottish sculptor.

Strathaven Balloon Festival - 2015

Once again it was a well worthwhile trip to Strathaven to see the Balloons in flight.

The organisers and staff were both friendly and helpful.

The balloonists were cheerful and accommodating, and the morning and evening events were fantastic.

Hope you enjoy the images and I can recommend this event if you are able to attend next year.

Strathaven Balloon Festival - 'Evening Glow' Event

I went through to Strathaven Balloon Festivals's 'Evening Glow' event tonight.

Wasn't sure what to expect but knew getting quality images would be a challenge.

Positioned myself a bit too close to the action I think, though a couple of good shots resulted.

The event is quite a short one so not much time to get in to different locations for a different perspective. The crowd was quite large too so getting a clear view wasn't so easy.

Anyway, here's the fruits of my labours.

Vintage Festival - Merchant City in Glasgow

After my time at Pacific Quay I headed across the town to the Vintage Festival in Merchant City.

The festivals at Merchant City are always vibrant and fun though I was a little later in getting here than planned.

The Kennedy Cupcakes very kindly posed for me, and then I had the pleasure of watching them perform to the sound of the big band era.

Merchant City Festival - 2013

A last minute decision to head up to Glasgow for the Merchant City Festival.

Caught a late afternoon train and was soon in Glasgow.

So glad I made the journey as I haven't seen Glasgow look so happy as I did today.

With the sunny weather and everyone intent on savouring the atmosphere and joining in the festivities it was a joy to behold.

The festival continues tomorrow and if you didn't manage along today I suggest you give it a try tomorrow.

You won't be disappointed.
