Inverclyde Council Fireworks

Tonight was the turn of Inverclyde Council to host their annual firework display.

The weather favoured us I'm pleased to say, dry and pleasantly not that cold for this time of year.

I haven't been to Greenock's display for a few years and was pleasantly surprised to see that this was an awesome effort.

Very pleased I made the trip down, and congratulations to Inverclyde Council on giving us such a great display.

Dumbarton Firework Display - 2015

It was Dumbarton's turn for their firework display this evening.

Got off to a poor start for me as unexpected rain forced me to shoot from indoors.

Mist also curtailed the view across the River Clyde.

Purely a personal opinion but I felt the display was not as good as last years - a shame as I consider this one of the better displays in out area.

Enjoyed processing the images nevertheless.

Edinburgh Military Tattoo Fireworks

After a day on the Royal Mile enjoying the Fringe Festival acts it was over to Calton Hill to take in the Military Tattoo firework display.

With some guidance on timings from a new friend while setting up, I was able to maximise my shots.

The display was very colourful and rewarding to watch - even though the night temperatures are beginning to drop.

Queen Mary 2 Departs Greenock with Fireworks

The Cunard cruise ship 'Queen Mary 2' departed Greenock last night with a send off from the local townsfolk - and a few fireworks.

Her visit was part of Cunard's 175 Anniversary Cruise and she's now bound for Oban.

It was good to see so many packing the Greenock Esplanade - more so with the forecast of rain.

Very fortunate that the rain stayed away on the night.

A moving vessel proves a tricky situation with long exposures to capture the fireworks, so not ideal for photographers.

If I'm candid it wasn't the most spectacular display I've attended, but I've attempted to make the most of what was available.

Fireworks Display at Dumbarton

It's that time of year again and Dumbarton had their annual firework night tonight.

We never seem to hear of Guy Fawkes these days - just the displays - and many of them are themed.

I find this a bit confusing as I always though the theme was Guy Fawkes.

In any case, it's always a very colourful event and very well attended.

Dumbarton Firework Display for 2013

Treated to the delight that is the firework display at Dumbarton for this year.

These images are taken from the field behind my home in Langbank as I brave the cold winter air.

Suitably dressed of course.
