Queen's Baton Relay - Inverclyde

Today was the turn of the people of Inverclyde to take part in the Queen's Baton Relay ahead of the upcoming Commonwealth Games.

An early start at McInroy's Point in Gourock where the Baton arrived by ferry from Hunter's Quay.

Once ashore the journey began as the convoy headed to Inverkip.

I set off in the opposite direction and met up with the convoy at Quarrier's Village.

After that I met up with them again at Newark Castle for my final shots of the day.

Queen's Jubilee Beacon - Greenock

Over 4,200 Beacons were lit across the UK, and worldwide to celebrate The Queen's Diamond Jubilee tonight.

Greenock was no exception as a fair sized crowd assembled at the Lyle Hill to enjoy the occasion.

The weather was very kind and after the sun set, the beacon was lit at 22:15 after a few words were said.
