MV Orcadia - Previously MV Saturn

I've been following the progress of the transition of the old Calmac ferry 'MV Saturn' as she undergoes the change to 'MV Orcadia'.

She is now owned by Pentland Ferries and will be utilised in fish farm work, and perhaps some offshore duties too.

She left the dry dock this afternoon and made the short trip round to the James Watt Dock.

She still has some work to be done but I expect she will be heading up the the Orkneys towards the end of next week.

MV Finnarrow Leaves Inchgreen Dry Dock

Previously covered in an earlier post, MV Finnarrow has now completed her repair work and this evening she exited the Inchgreen dry dock.

I understand she was originally to head straight out to sea and go to Belgium.

Instead she berthed at the repair quay, but I would expect she will depart in the next day or two.

Around and About Inverclyde

A fair bit of domestic chores today including shopping.

Surprisingly I managed to get quite a few images - and a variety too.

Finnarrow and MV Clansman in Greenock

The Finnlines ferry 'Finnarrow' currently in the Clyde for repairs slipped in to the Inchgreen dry dock very early this morning.

A few images now that repairs have started.

Also a few of the 'Clansman' as she completes her refit work before returning to service.

VOS Inspirer - Exits Garvel Dry Dock

A wee trip down to the Greenock docks this afternoon, and very bright sunshine today.

VOS Inspirer was leaving the Garvel dry dock and then berthing in James Watt Dock to finish off her refit before going out on trials.

Greenock Harbours and Docks

Caught a few pics in Greenock this afternoon.

I suspect the 'Haven Hawk' as a new acquisition and will be used as a pilot cutter - perhaps to replace the ageing 'Cloch'.
