HMS Belos - River Clyde Areas

It's been a while since I updated the Blog.

Combination of factors but let's hope for more in the near future.

This is quite an unusual vessel and seen heading to Glasgow this afternoon.

My Cat - Skipper

 Looks like butter wouldn't melt.

Don't be fooled, as adorable and friendly as he is, birds, mice, moles, and rabbits don't stand much of a chance when he's on the prowl.

A cat of two halves for sure.

Clydebuilt Maritime Museum - Braehead

The 'Clydebuilt Maritime Museum' situated at Braehead shopping centre is due to close in the middle of October this year.

More of our shipbuilding heritage slips from the grasp of future generations - how sad this is .......

It's well worth a visit, so get you skates on before it's gone.

Arts Guild - Greenock

Scotland’s First Minister Alex Salmond cut the first sod at the site of Inverclyde’s new £10 million arts centre today - accompanied by and the famous Scottish comedienne Dorothy Paul.

The new centre will house the replace the ageing Arts Guild on Campbell Street.

The new centre should be complete in around 18 months time and will sit adjacent to the historic Custom House as a show-piece to Inverclyde’s regeneration.

She is now expected to make her move on Wednesday of this week.

Strathclyde Fire Brigade Preservation Group

Strathclyde Fire Brigade Preservation Group had a small display at the entrance to the public access to RFA Fort Rosalie open day.

Two appliances, and the members were (as usual) kept busy with questions from interested visitors.

RFA Fort Rosalie Visits Greenock

Scotts' Shipbuilding celebrates a 300th Anniversary next year.

Fort Rosalie was launched  in 1976 (as Fort Grange) and today she returned to her birthplace and was open to the public for viewing.

A very worthwhile tour and the crew were excellent in their hospitality.

Wish we had more days like this in Greenock.

Visit from a Friend

Had a visit from an old friend and ex-colleague from T-Mobile today.

Enjoyed a nice lunch at the 'Cafe Royale' Chinese restaurant, then Jo bought a Greenock Telegraph 2011 Calendar - which I duly signed on my two winning entries.

Ice cream and snowballs followed at the Lyle Hill, then showed Jo around some of the nicer parts of Greenock before she departed to return home to Montrose.

The great and warm weather was an added bonus.

"Night is Day" - Film Shoot Last Day

Well today was the large official  filming, which was quite sad really.

We started early travelling from Glasgow (08:00) to the Alloa area for some internal and external scenes.

Then back to Glasgow to finish off some roof scenes.

We finished early (19:45) - in itself unusual - and said our goodbyes - till we meet again at the 'wrap party' later in the year.

Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) - Glasgow

A run up to Glasgow for lunch with Fraser and Bethany.

Managed to punch the Chinese waiter (it was an accident - honest).

Then a walk around - buying make-up for tomorrow's filming, and grabbed a few pics at the GOMA.

"Night is Day" at Collectormania - Day Two

Well Day Two - 'Night is Day' at Collectormania was as good if not better then Day One - though for different reasons.

Cast, Crew, and Fans (old and new) were awesome as ever, making the day go quickly, and it was so rewarding.

Again we had some celebrity visitors who came to see us and had good things to say about the trailer.

"Night is Day" at Collectormania - Day One

Well what can I say - 'Night is Day' at Collectormania went down
really well with everyone.

Cast, Crew, and Fans (old and new) were blown
away with the new trailer - "inspiring" was one of many comments.

We had some celebrity visitors who came to see us and had good things to say about the trailer.
