West Highland Line - Train Heads North

An early start this morning to catch the Northbound steam trains.

All the way the Helensburgh Upper station for just a few shots.

The locomotives stopped beyond the platform so unable to get any usable shots other than the arrival.

Stavros S Niarchos - Tall Ship - Greenock

Tall Ships Youth Trust vessel the Stavros S Niarchos arrived in Greenock this afternoon.

She berthed at Custom House Quay in mixture of sunshine and heavy showers.

Bowling Basin Marina

Finally managed to get a visit here, been promising myself since I visited Bowling Harbour.

A lovely spot and a nice walk.

The Forth & Clyde Canal ends here as it borders the Clyde.

Another we jaunt up to Garelochhead Station to catch some steam activity.

Stopped of with my good lady first though for a carvery lunch.

Met Donnie and had a chat - as per usual.

The train excursion was bang on time, but then went ahead of schedule so no images other than these.

West Highland Train

LMS 4-6-0 Black 5 - 44871 - headed up to Fort William this evening.

She left Craigendoran ten minutes earlier than expected so my run up to Helensburgh Upper was in vain.

Disappointing to travel so far and not maximise the photo opportunities.

AMT Trader - Barge - Ferguson's Shipyard

This image shows the AMT Trader - in to Ferguson's Shipyard for some modifications and eventually will transport sections of the new build Aircraft Carriers from Glasgow to Rosyth.
