HMS Sutherland Departs the Clyde

HMS Sutherland departed the River Clyde this afternoon.

She left KGV Glasgow docks and proceeded downriver.

Her Helo was removed from the hanger on the way down.

T-Class Submarine - On Exercise in Loch Long

 
 The weather was awful, and very poor light, so images are a bit grainy.

One of our Trident submarines is on exercise in Loch Long near Cove.

There must have been some wet feet out there today. I know I was drenched on the shore.

DMU 158 Train Units at Mount Vernon Station

Went out to Mount Vernon in the hope of seeing the Tornado steam loco pass, and captured these images while waiting.

Tornado Steam Train - 60163

The ''Tornado' locomotive - number  60163 arrived in Glasgow Central Station this afternoon.

 This is her first time in Glasgow and their were hoards of eager enthusiasts to meet and greet her on arrival.

Seabus - Wee trip

 Well as my car was in for servicing and it would be a while, decided to head to Gourock and board the 'Seabus' ferry.

Across to Kilgreggan, then onto Helensburgh before returning by the same route.

 Grabbed these shots after leaving Morrisons where we were shopping, and before we headed home.

Queen Mary 2 Departs Greenock - with Firework Display

Well she set off on the next leg of her tour at around 20:30, after enjoying a spectacular fireworks display accompanied by classical music.

Queen Mary 2 - Greenock Visit

 
The world's largest cruise liner - QM2  - arrived in Greenock this morning.

We could all have done with some better weather, but hey ho, it's Greenock in September.

I was very kindly hosted aboard on of our local Svitzer tugs - 'Svitzer Milford' - so my sincere thanks to them for their kind offer.
