Sunset from Langbank

A familiar view to me of the Cowal Hills as the sun sets - taken form Langbank.

Familiar as it may be - it's always changing with the light.

Saturday Evening in Greenock

Decided to try my luck with the sun setting in Greenock tonight.

Feel it was worth the effort, and glad I took a chance.

SD Northern River

SD Northern River sneaked down from Glasgow this morning - no AIS signal to alert me of her movement.

Nice sunny morning made for some pleasant images.

(HMS) Ambush - Royal Navy Submarine

The Royal Navy's £1.6bn submarine 'Ambush' arrived at her base on the River Clyde for the first time this morning.

The 7,400 tonne vessel was built by BAE Systems, and is the second of the 'Astute' class nuclear-powered submarines.

She will continue sea testing in the coming months, and will formally become 'HMS Ambush' when commissioned into the Royal Navy.

She will be armed with both Tomahawk land attack missiles and Spearfish torpedoes.

Waterloo Road - Langbank Filming

'Waterloo Road' - the BBC series being filmed in Inverclyde were in action this afternoon in Langbank.

Popped over for ten minutes and grabbed a few images.

Can't be easy filming in this weather but guesss it's only going to get worse as we approach winter.

Cast and crew I spoke with were both helpful and friendly.

Vos Iona

'Vos Iona' arrived last night and berthed at James Watt Dock, presumably she will be entering the Garvel dry dock for maintenance.

She is an offshore field support vessel usually working in the North Sea and also serves as an Emergency Rescue and Response Vessel.

Seabourn Soujourn - Departing Greenock

The 'Seabourn Soujourn' departed Greenock this evening with her next stop Belfast.

The light was a little better than this morning but gusty winds made this feel like a winter evening.

Not too many people came down to see her off - a shame but with the weather one can understand why.

Hopefully when she calls again next year we'll have a bit better weather.
