Hawsker

Our last night at the caravan in Hawsker.

I had missed a few good sunsets, so this one was too good to miss. Ran down from the van to the cliff edge.

Colours are real - just lightened the cliffs slightly.

Levisham, Whitby, and Ruswarp

Last day of the holidays before we depart back to Scotland.

Finally found Larpool Viaduct for a few images, then tea at Ruswarp, and a final visit to Levisham Station.

Yet again the sun shone - can not believe how good the weather has been over the fortnight.

Grosmont

 Spent some time in the yard at Grosmont Station.

Whitby - East Cliff

A visit to St Mary's church - never seen it so busy with visitors.

Difficult to get the images I wanted, and eventually abandoned.

Whitby Abbey seems overpriced for what it offers compared to other similar locations - just my thoughts - and a few other we chatted with on the day.

Robin Hood's Bay

A lovely walk around Robin Hood's Bay with the weather as glorious as ever.

This really is a 'land that time forgot' area with so many interesting and enjoyable things to see and do.

Pickering & Grosmont

A few more hours spent watching the awesome steam locomotives on the (NYMR) North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

Good and friendly conversations with the volunteer staff - who are a credit to the line.

And again we were blessed with a wonderful sunny day.

NYMR - Pickering

Another day at Pickering. The 'Continental Market' was on that day, but unimpressed and the prices were high too.

Thankfully we could still spend some time at the heritage railway.

Levisham Station

 We always really enjoy a visit to this wonderful NYMR station.

Due to the prolonged dry spell there is a high risk of fire on the moors from the steam locomotives.

So a diesel hauls from Goathland to Levisham for safety.

This gives an opportunity to photograph with a steam and diesel loco at each end of the train.

Scarborough

 An enforced day in Scarborough.

Car problems on the way down resulted in a new radiator being fitted.

Another gorgeous day with the sun beating down made it warm - but pleasant.

Met a couple from York at Pickering and Stuart pointed out the nest of birds.

Second day of filming this weekend - I was the lucky one as only there to cover the morning.

The rest of the cast and crew didn't wrap till after 23:00 - another very long day.

Night is Day - Film Shoot

Well the morning session was securing footage of Elaine C Smith's scene, and this turned out to be both interesting and enjoyable. Elaine was fantastic to work with, which made for a fine morning.

After a long break we headed to the Botanic Gardens for some fight scenes which lasted till after 22:00 making this a very full (and enjoyable) day.

Who said filming would be easy :-)
