Olympic Torch - Inverclyde

The Olympic Torch came to Inverclyde today and the crowds turned out in their numbers to cheer.

A good natured crowd waved flags, cheered, and pointed cameras and camcorders as the runner came through upper Port Glasgow.

Strathclyde Police joined in with smiles and waves to the crowd.

All in all it was a good event in Inverclyde.

Anchor Mills Waterfalls - Paisley

After the walk around Paisley Abbey the rain was still coming down.

Walked over to the old Anchor Mills but too wet to spend any real time there.

A few shots while sheltering under the bridge, then a bit closer for a couple of 'grab' shots trying to keep the camera and lens dry.

Paisley Abbey

After catching the Tour train passing through Paisley station the rain prohibited any outdoor shooting.

Having never been to Paisley Abbey this presented an opportunity to get some images and also stay dry.

Also met someone from my past while there.

The Abbey is well worth a visit and it deserves another trip through some day.

Another wee trip around the Riverside Transport Museum.

Busy today due to it being a holiday.

Some nice entertainment from a jazz band kept the visitors feet tapping.

Queen's Jubilee Beacon - Greenock

Over 4,200 Beacons were lit across the UK, and worldwide to celebrate The Queen's Diamond Jubilee tonight.

Greenock was no exception as a fair sized crowd assembled at the Lyle Hill to enjoy the occasion.

The weather was very kind and after the sun set, the beacon was lit at 22:15 after a few words were said.
