Around Greenock in the Sun

With a few hours to spare it was up to the hills to give Maya a good walk.

At times it felt warm enough to be summer.

Then popped in to the James Watt Dock on the way home and grabben a few shots of the Clansman in the Garvel dry dock for winter refit.

Finnarrow - Greenock For Repairs

The ferry 'Finnarrow' arrived at Greenock early this morning having been towed up from Holyhead by the tug 'Hellas'.

She suffered damage while entering the harbour at Holyhead a few days ago - my understanding is that her stabilizers were not retracted before she berthed and this caused damage that allowed water ingress.

She will be going in to Inchgreen dry dock for repair next week.

Tug 'Keverne' - Greenock

 The tug 'Keverne' passed Greenock outbound early this afternoon.

She had towed the barge 'Woolston' up to Govan having sailed it round from Rosyth.

So guessing we can expect some more aircraft carrier parts moving from the BAE year to Rosyth some time in the near future.

James Watt and Garvel Docks

A botched appointment by Scottish Gas meant I wasted the morning, and a part of the afternoon too.

So I missed the arrival of the Clansman for her annual refit.

Just managed to catch a few images before she finally slipped in to the Garvel dry dock completely.

She certainly looks in need of some TLC.

Sunday Jaunt

Headed across to Helensburgh - weather was gorgeous today - to catch a few shots of the Brazilian patrol boat that was bound for Faslane. 

As can happen, she dropped anchor for the night instead of transiting direct to Faslane. So abandoning my original viewpoint a quick head around to Kilcreggan to get a shot as she lay at anchor.

Carried an round to Coulport and got a few of the Loch Long and the Clyde. Driving home the sunset got red and attractive, but I was unable to stop off to get any shots.

Lunderston Bay

A walk with Maya - and today was her first trip to Lunderston Bay.

So she had a day at the seaside.

A popular spot for walking dogs it was very quiet on our out leg, but met plenty other dog owners with their dogs on the way back.

Perhaps the weather improving had something to do with it.

River Clyde Today

A bit delayed in getting to Greenock today so missed the Vos Shine as she approached the dock.

However, managed a few shots, plus some later of other river traffic.
