Queen Elizabeth - Another Greenock Visit

Cunard's 'Queen Elizabeth' arrived on the Clyde today - this being her second visit to Greenock.

She arrived in from Kirkwall and is Liverpool bound as she departs the Clyde.

A fairly short stay as she left at 15:45, and she is the only Cunarder to visit us this year.

Let's hope we get more arriving to our shores next year, as we always extend a very warm welcome.

This was demonstrated today by the hoards of people who turned up to bid her a fond farewell.

Le Triomphant - S616 - French Submarine

A very rare visitor to our shores today - a French nuclear submarine came to Faslane.

She is the 'Le Triomphant' and looked splendid as she transited to Faslane at the Gareloch, in the warm sunshine.

Her rather dubious claim to fame is that she collided with a Royal Navy submarine - HMS Vanguard - in the Atlantic Ocean in the night between 3rd and 4th February 2009.

Beauty and Tranquillity

Sometimes we just get so wrapped up in what we think we want to photograph, we miss the things right before our eyes.

And these things are the beauty that surrounds us, and brings tranquillity to our eyes and minds.

A small collection in between submarines and ships from today.
