Forth Guardsman - River Clyde

A rare - if not unique visitor to the Clyde.

She appears to be carrying out work at King George V dock in Glasgow.

Quite unusual in appearance, and made her way very slowly upriver this afternoon.

Oh to live in Inverclyde, weather changes quickly keeping it interesting, and keeps you on your toes.

In between showers (not to many mind you) managed a few images of ships in the James Watt Dock.

It's a busy time of year as a lot of vessels are getting their winter refits.

Chuetsu Maru - Cargo Ship

Chuetsu Maru arrived on the Clyde today with a cargo of animal feed. She made her way to KGV docks in Glasgow, and was assisted by three tugs - Ayton Cross, Anglegarth, and Svitzer Milford.

She is a large vessel and in the confines of the Clyde looked pretty awesome.

Edinburgh Visit - The Zoo

Last minute decision this morning to head East and visit Edinburgh Zoo.

I'll not get into the argument as to the suitability of Zoos - but some rewarding sights, and some sad ones.

Will probably return later in the year when the weather is a bit better, and the nights longer.

HMS Ramsey - Dry Docking at Garvel, Greenock

HMS Ramsey came over to Greenock today and entered the Garvel Dry Dock.

She was escorted by SD Jupiter and SD Nimble - the Serco tugs.

All the crew from all the vessels that I was in close proximity to today were bright and cheery with waves being exchanged - now that was nice.

Dumbarton Castle

At last managed a visit over to Dumbarton Castle. Weather was fair, though a very heavy shower as I was at the summit.

While at the Castle I took out a membership to Historic Scotland.

The young lady at reception - Stacey - was very helpful and a good ambassador for the castle and Historic Scotland.
