'Pretty Ivy' Heads to Sea

A run up to Braehead at lunch time to see the departure of the bulk carrier 'Pretty Ivy'.

Weather has been a problem for shipping movements of late so I guess the owners will be glad to see her safely out to sea.

Unusually one of the Serco tugs - 'SD Dependable' was used to assist the tow today. I believe it's been about five years since this last happened.

It was good to witness, and I'm sure it was a welcome challenge to the crew from their normal MOD work.

I wonder if this will be a thing of the future with Serco and Svitzer tugs working together.

Glasgow Christmas Lights

Just managed to get up to George Square in Glasgow before the Christmas Lights event came to a close.

Not too cold a night - which was a blessing.

Thanks to the organisers for arranging that I could spend some time taking these photographs.

Stormy Inverclyde

The winter weather continues in the Inverclyde area.

Today saw the real threat and warnings of flooding due to the combination of weather and coastal tides.

Had a run around to get some photos to record what was happening.

Greenock Christmas Lights

Another run to Greenock to get a few more images of the Christmas lights in Greenock.

Lucky with the weather as it started to rain as I was leaving.

Greenock Christmas Lights

Popped in to Greenock on my way home and was fortunate to catch the area fairly quiet. Also a bit windy though - just enough to move the lights in the breeze.

Still, no one said that life would be prefect.

Derelict Farm at Loch Thom

Through weather and personal circumstances both myself and my camera have been fairly idle of late.

But, enough is enough and today I head out in search of something - anything - to document with my camera in hand.

Light is fading fast as I've left things to the last minute, and it's not looking like I'm going to be rewarded with a sudden burst of golden light.

It's also a very bitter cold evening - so no comfort there either.

I happen across these old farm buildings - formerly Garvock's Farm.

Trudging my way through the mud I get a few shots in the bag, and I hope you enjoy them.

River Clyde This Morning

Popped down to Greenock this morning to catch the 'Grampian Falcon' as she headed on up to Port Glasgow.

A nice enough morning for this time of year and she duly arrived at the expected time.
