Tall Ships Race 2011 - Greenock Event - Day One

Well today the event started for real.

The sun shone, the crowds came, and overall in my opinion it was an excellent day out.

We've heard the moans and some have a degree of justification, but it's a large event held in working docks, and nothing is ever perfect.

On my travels throughout the site everyone was good natured and said they were having a good time.

We're privileged to have this event in Greenock and it gives a 'good feel' factor with the colourful flags and bunting, with an international air with so many ships from around the world.

And the entry fee was a glorious - FREE.
