The Royal Scotsman Tour

A Royal Scotsman tour arrived in Wemyss Bay today.

Not a cheap excursion this, but nice to see the diesel locos at work on this line.

PS Waverley Departs the Clyde

After a long delay in preparation the PS Waverley finally departed Greenock and headed down to the Bristol Channel.

It was a pretty miserable evening with the rain persisting, but at least she's now up and running for the remainder of the season - God willing.

PS Waveley - On the Move

The PS Waverley was moved from the Garvel Dry Dock today after a prolonged visit which has prevented her from meeting her scheduled sailing calendar.

She should be heading for the Bristol Channel in the morning if all goes to plan.

PS Comet - Replica Re-Instated

The replica of the PS Comet was returned 'home' today after extensive renovation.

I'm sure the people of Port Glasgow and visitors to the area will be pleased to see her back on display.

A turn around the James Watt Dock this morning.

Construction work for the forthcoming 'Tall Ships Event' continue but still difficult to believe all will be completed on time. Hope I'm wrong.

Was expecting the PS Waverley to exit the Garvel Dry Dock but now looks that this may happen tomorrow.

An unbelievably sunny day - but forecast says it's for today only.

Grabbed these on the way home before a BBQ in the evening.

Freight Diesel Locomotives at Garelochhead Station

Having missed the steam train - it went through an hour earlier than forecast, I managed to salvage a bit of the night by getting these two freight diesels as they came in to Garelochhead Station.
