Walk Around Greenock Docks

Another wild day with strong winds and heavy prolonged showers.

Nevertheless I took a trip down to James Watt Dock at high tide to see what activity we may have.

Usual works going on, but nice to see the dock so busy with many vessels getting prepared for their next jobs.

Images were taken between the showers.

River Clyde Today

The tall ship "Stavros S Niarchos' arrived at Custom House quay this afternoon and will be there till next week when she will go in to dry dock for a refit.

There are some other images of vessels on the Clyde and in the surrounding dock areas.

A Busy Garvel and James Watt Dock

After yesterday's postponement the Garvel dry dock today saw the MV Finlaggan and the SD Warden exit, and the Burhou I come in for maintenance.

It was a great day and almost looked tropical, and the temperatures were fair giving some warmth in the sunshine.

This was reflected in the number of people who appeared to watch the comings and goings around the docks.

Nice to see as it is their heritage, even though the river is quiet by the standards of yesteryear.

River Clyde at Greenock

A nice busy spell on the Clyde at Greenock this afternoon.

Weather picked up too, a bonus at this time of year.

First I had the 'Neptune' on her way out, then up to the Garvel dock to catch the 'MV Lochinvar' as she exited.

Later in the day the 'MV Finlaggan' arrived before starting her annual maintenance at the Garvel Dry Dock.
